Curriculum Description
36 credit hours of coursework, including quantitative and qualitative research courses, plus 12 credit hours of dissertation work for a total of 48 credit hours. (This does not include the 3 credit prerequisite course; see below in “application requirements.”)
Thesis Requirements
A dissertation is required. Students are required to defend their dissertations in the final dissertation course. The dissertation must be completed within four years to a maximum duration of seven years for the program.

Program Description
UMGC’s DBA degree is designed for executive-level working professionals. It is a hybrid program with fully online courses and onsite residencies in Maryland, three times per year, in which attendance is mandatory. The program emphasizes the real-world application of strategic thinking, leadership, research, innovation, and sustainability in the global business environment. The cohort structure promotes close, interactive partnerships among students, faculty, and staff and a supportive network for lifelong learning. Benefits include exposure to national and global perspectives and collaboration with geographically diverse classmates and faculty.

Online application, $100 fee, graduate transcripts, current resume, personal statement, two letters of recommendation, writing sample, interview, and successful completion of 11-week, 3-credit prerequisite course - DBA 600: Foundations of Doctoral Study.
